This post recounts the events of Monday May 17th, 2010.
This was a long long drive. However, it did not feel long. It was really weird. 11 hours in a car...we stopped for a total of 20 minutes. We left from Tampa really early on Monday to be able to check into the Hostel in New Orleans. It went by surprisingly quickly, and we parked somewhere illegal until we spoke the hostel manager, Tim, who was amazing by the way, and we straightened that situation out. Did I mention how much I love free parking? Anyways, we werent sure how this place would fare against the amazing Baltimore hostel, but when we got outside to the pool hut, we knew we were in for a treat. We were offered a beer, and we started playing beer pong with 3 girls from Wisconsin, 2 girls from Australia, 2 girls from Switzerland and an awesome dude from England. Let's just say that first night was a night we'd never forget! The hostel itself was a little shabbier then we've known to encounter, but it definitely made up in terms of atmosphere. What great people here!
And tomorrow was to be another day.
Driving today: 11 hours
Albums of the day: Strict Joy by Swell Season and Break Syndical by Les Cowboys Fringants
Songs of the day: I’m gonna booglarize you baby by Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band and I wish I was in New Orleans by Tom Waits
Quote of the day: Something by the English guy that I can't remember, but I laughed for awhile.
